Who We Are

The Power of We Consortium is often referred to as a “community collaborative” or a “network of networks.” The PWC capitalizes on the power of social capital (such as trust, civic involvement, and connection) and diversity to achieve positive results for the community. This desire to foster community-wide collaboration and to engage all segments of the population in community improvement efforts is reflected in the PWC’s membership.

The Power of We Consortium (PWC) believes that the most vexing issues facing our community are interrelated.  We must engage all the resources of the community to solve problems that cannot be solved by any single agency.

A majority of the work of the PWC gets done through its 12 member coalitions and its three primary committees: the Data Committee, the Leadership and Practice Committee, and the Investors Steering Committee.  Each coalition consists of a network of organizations and individuals with interest and expertise in the area of focus.  Each also supports one or more of the PWC’s primary goals, and utilizes a set of community practices to accelerate change.

Our work is positively impacting the indicators of well-being highlighted in our data gathering initiative.  More information on these connections is available under each coalition or committees links throughout the site.

The Power of We Consortium is an effective and efficient way for institutions to invest in the change process in the Capital Area. Through the Power of We Consortium, solutions designed by the community are working for the community.
